Friday

It's Friday, New Year's Eve, Eve but these pics are from our ride on Wednesday.  Sorry to keep you waiting!  This is the kind of scenery that is here if you ride a little bit towards the mountain away from town.  The rocks are unbelievable.
And check this out, that thing is growing right out of that rock, no kidding.
Al fell off, just kidding, this is Al taking a break at our lunch spot.  Yes it appears he is laying on a rock, tough guy.
Bobe of course.
And last but not least the unforgettable Margie,  see that thing on her helmet, the Arizonians add a large brim to their helmets out here because it is SUNNY ALL THE TIME!  Yes I think all that sun has lifted my spirits.  Check out that huge rock behind her.  That is Lady's butt closest to the rock so you can determine how huge that is.  The rock I mean.
Right before she peed in the creek that she is standing in. Geesh...  I don't know what that white bar of light is on some of these pics.
Pretty girl.
More to come tomorrow because today we went to Oracle and rode the Arizona Trail, which is awesome but I'm saving it for tomorrow's blog so stay tuned!

Christmas Monday

Howdy y'all,  Hope you each had a wonderful Christmas.  We had a good Christmas making new traditions here in Arizona.

Here is the new Christmas tea pot.

Christmas Eve morning breakfast cooking.

Yes, I keep my friends on the windowsill, Miss you guys!!!!

This is my new friend Gypsy.  When MaryJean met her for the first time she went berserk , stood up on hind legs barking and almost flipped herself over, we were laughing so hard.  I think she thought this was her friend at home Jada, the shrunken version.  Here is Jada.

Monday after Christmas we went off to find the waterfall at the green rock with Margie, Al, Bobe, Clarence and David.  Here we are drinking out of a stream.  Yes that is water in the desert.  Lady is so glad there is water here this year so she will have somewhere to poop. Sorry.

Here's the waterfall.  My camera was zoomed out to the max to get this close to it.  I know it doesn't look like much in this picture but it is the DESERT for goodness sakes, a WATERFALL in the DESERT is a cool thing.
Here we are all crammed in at the base of it.  Wait there's more of us in this tiny spot and Lady's bubble was getting pretty full. See her ears back.
One lady was already here and had to leave to make room for us. Wait there's more...

Here is princess Lady who is too snobby to stand close to anyone else.

This is Zero and Blondie who couldn't keep their hooves off each other no matter how far you tied them apart.
Still at it...

"Come closer you gorgeous blonde"

Wink, wink.... Oh my gosh, enough already...

Thursday

Went swimming last night at an outdoor pool with two lady friends.  The temp was chilly but the water was warm and it was fun!  Sorry, no pics this time but I will get some next time.  Margie and Susie are a hooot and hard to keep up with in that water aerobics class!  Of course they knew more than our new teacher so they taught him.  It was fun to go swimming outside at night in December!!
See that critter in our camp, that is not Gracie.  That is a coyote just walking through our camp about 10am this morning.
Our ride today.  Was chilly, in the 50's and I didn't dress warm enough but the sun was out and what a view.  This is called the 50 year trail.  Not sure why.
Bobe a Chico was along of course.
This part of the trail was really rocky and we ran across a mountain biker from Salt Lake who didn't last too long on this trail.  Lady keeps on the lookout for critters out here.  In the evening we are watching Deadwood.  Bobe is practicing his music each night, I am not but will start soon.

Bobe's first ride

Well...we did it...we took Bobe out riding today.  Myself, Harold and Deb.
Here he is, ready to go.  As you can see in the background, the sun showed its face today but we all had a light layer on for when it hid behind those clouds.  This shot is taken right in the front yard of our trailerhood.  As you can tell on a clear day the view is really ugly.  Here is what our day looked like:

Harold and Deb.  I made them pose for this.  Aren't they cute?
Lady says  "OMG, there is water in the desert? (in case you were wondering the G stands for gosh on my blog)

This is the darling Buddy on the left and Shooter on the right.

"Darn, I wish I hadn't pooped in the puddle a while back cause I sure would like to poop in this here pretty river and embarass Nancy and p-off Bobe" says Lady.

Can you believe we are FORCED to look at this UGLY view????

Monday

Cold and rainy here today.  Not much going on.  Went for a walk with the dogs, then onto the laundry mat.  Dropped $20 into the machines but have clean clothes now!!!  The horses are blanketed for the night as it is in the 40's here and chilly.  We are kind of hibernating in the trailer.

oops, corrected error from last post

That pic of Judy and Justine and baby:  that baby is actually Justine's grandaughter, that baby's mama is sitting right behind them and I almost had a good 4 generation shot. darn.

Saturday

Today was Dorly's big Christmas Party.  She invites the whole neighborhood I think and there were about 50 people there.  Here are some of our favorites.  This is Harold and Deb our neighbors from Iowa.

This is Dorly and Justine and baby McKinley
This is Judy our other neighbor and her daughter Justine and her daughter McKinley.
Live music in Dorly's living room.
Tom the potlicker, no his isn't bald he just looks bald in this picture after his $12 clipper cut he got the other day.

It is raining out today, Sunday and we went to  a fantastic church, The Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene and had a great worship time, then went driving out in the desert with Al on the other side of the highway.  We are going back to that church's Christmas program tonight.  Uh...oh, better get going so we aren't late.
